actually the cannibalism is not very gory at all. the food looks really amazing- the horror is all in your imagination, because it's implied or outright stated that pretty much people are the main ingredients in whatever Hannibal is serving. actually, there's a good chance this show might turn into a vegetarian...because we went out for fancy breakfast this morning and all i could think about was what if i thought i was eating ham, but it was *really* something else...
there are some gorey parts, but only one or two times have i gotten so squeamish i've had to look away. i think it's probably about the same level of gore as Game of Thrones, but considerably more than you would expect on a network show.
i really hope you give it a chance! but i know this type of show is not everyone's thing.
