Dear Femslash12 Author,

First of all, let me thank you for agreeing to participate in this challenge and write a story for me! I have watched the Femslash challenge by the sidelines for several years, but this is the first year I have ever thrown my hat in the ring to participate.  Please take all my optional suggestions and fannish blatherings as just that...suggestions. I’m comfortable with any rating. And I really enjoy everything across the whole femslash spectrum- from UST and one-sided unrequited longing to fic about established relationships and smutty sexytimes. Follow your muse and I know you'll write a great story! Very little of my lj is flocked, so feel free to explore my entries here as well.

General Likes: Humor, bittersweet emotions, character studies, Porn With Plot, “five things” fic, role reversals.

Dislikes: If you’ve noticed from my requests, some of the ladies I have requested could be considered anti-heroes or villains. Don’t erase their faults or gloss over their sins- I like my ladies in all their complicated, contradictory glory. J I also don't particularly like stories that involve non-con, death of a major character, or wildly divergent “in space” or highschool AUs

Doctor Who- Kate Stewart/Donna Noble, Reinette/River Song, Martha Jones/Sally Sparrow, River Song/Donna Noble

I will just say that I love all of these ladies and I don’t really have a strong preference for one of these couples over another. Donna is by far my fave companion and I really was disappointed by the way she was treated in canon- so a Donna fix-it fic is always good. I’ve been in love with Jemma Redgrave since forever and I squeed over her debut as Kate, so I’d eat up a Kate story with a spoon. Timey-wimey, non-chronological adventures between Martha/Sally or Reinette/River would be equally amazing. I’d especially love it if River took Reinette travelling in time and space since the Doctor wasn’t able to.

 
Game of Thrones- Brienne/Catelyn Stark, Brienne/Margaery Tyrell

I’m a big sucker for tomboy and girly-girl pairings. I also really love Brienne’s journey- how she starts out kind of stiff and morally inflexible and then softens a bit, while still retaining her innate goodness. I’ve read all the books, so feel free to incorporate events and characters from beyond the tv canon. I find Brienne’s devotion to Catelyn very sexy- I’d love to see that explored in all its permutations, from platonic admiration to passion. If somehow this devotion gets transferred to an older Sansa, even better. I’d also love a missing scene where sexually confident Margaery seduces or flirts with shy Brienne. Or one where these ladies have some fun while Renly and Loras are occupied offscreen.

Downton Abbey- Sarah O’Brien/Cora Crawley, Mary Crawley/Anna Bates, Anna/Gwen

So, I totally ship Cora/O’Brien (Cobrien?) hard. I’m fascinated by the co-dependence and power dynamics of the mistress/maid relationship and O’Brien’s desire to atone for the thing she can never really atone for. Alternately, I’d love to see a story of their first meeting or early days to better understand the bond they share.

Mary/Anna- you have no idea how disappointed I was they didn’t sail off to New York and become flappers at the end of season 2! I love Lady Mary for all her imperiousness and bitchiness- and I love that Anna has been one of the few people who she has let see her at her most vulnerable. Some post-Pamuk hurt/comfort or a scene of happy girlish experimentations would be wonderful.

Anna/Gwen- Gwen was the best second housemaid. It’s a shame she ran off to Westeros. Again, a fun, sexy story about indulging in sexual curiosity with each other would be excellent. There don’t seem to be many hetero romantic options at Downton for these ladies, so why not?

Kushiel’s Legacy- Melisande Shahrizai/Phèdre nó Delaunay, Sidonie de la Courcel/Amarante, Roshana Shahrizai/Alais de la Courcel

My cup runneth over with fangirlish glee for the ladies of this fandom. Melisande/Phèdre is the closest I’ve ever come to an OTP in any fandom anywhere, so you can’t go wrong with a story about them. What I like most about them is how the more Phèdre beats Melisande at her own game, the more Melisande falls in love with her. I think the bond between scion and dart tugs both ways- we know how Phèdre turns to mush around Melisande, I’d love to see that bond explored from Melisande’s side.  

Sidonie and Amarante are so sweet. I’d be especially interested to read a story where Amarante instructs Sidonie in the ways of Namaah. Totally hot. :D Or how their relationship evolves after Sidonie and Imriel’s marriage.

I think Alais is a wonderful character who is sadly neglected in fic. In my headcanon, Alais wants some of that hot Shahrizai lovin’ her sister has been getting. Naturally, Roshana is happy to oblige.

Yentl- Hadass/Yentl

When I watched this movie as a kid, I was always drawn to Yentl and her cross dressing. Rewatching as an adult, I suddenly realized how incredibly sexy Hadass is. I love the way she grows in confidence and how she turns out to be cleverer than anyone ever expected. So a post- canon reunion between these two ladies or an AU where Yentl and Hadass do consummate their marriage and continue the masquerade would totally be my cup of tea.
